Sequoia Grove is one of those great small family-run wineries in the prime Cabernet area of Napa Valley that has managed to remain under the radar. One of the best Cabs we've tasted in this price range, its full of the big tannins and a healthy dose of American Oak that Silver Oak fans love. The grapes come from well-regarded vineyards in the Napa Valley and Sequoia Grove's own estate vineyards in Rutherford.
Tasting Note:
Dark red in colour, the initial aromas are of bright black cherry and blackberry, followed by baking spices and a hint of chocolate. On the palate, the wine is intensely flavourful with round and smooth tannins, full of blackberry flavour and subtle toasty vanilla notes. A versatile food wine, the Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with any red meat on the grill, pork tenderloin, heavy cheeses and grilled vegetables.
