Alegra Ribera Del Duero Crianza

Country: Spain Region: Ribera del Duero Varietal: 95%  Tempranillo 5% Merlot

Vintage: 2020 Colour: Red Style: Dry

Producer: Bodegas Aleavini

Description:

Ribera del Duero is a complex land and harsh climate with unique conditions that produce, at high altitude, grapes of exceptional quality.

Castillejo de Robledo (Soria) is a remote area within Ribera del Duero with three distinctive characteristics:

1) High altitude. Around 980m above sea level, the high altitude provides a cooling effect even on summer nights.

2) The soil. Made mainly of limestone, the soil is very poor and pebbly, forcing the roots to grow far into the ground providing a beautiful base for the vines to take hold.

3) A rolling landscape of hills and valleys that provide endless orientations to grow the grapes.

Together these characteristics create a dry climate with cold winters and hot summers but with a great thermal difference between day and night, allowing the grapes to ripen fully but at a slower rate, maintaining the necessary acidity needed to produce a beautifully balanced wine.

Tasting Notes:
Mild leather aromas blend with blackberry notes to form a structured wine with a hint of spiciness. It finishes with mostly ripe berry, tobacco, oak and vanilla flavors.

Food Matches: Perfect for stews, meats of all kinds, rice, pastas and legumes.
